    Mission Statement

To ensure that all students become efficient and effective users of information and ideas and to foster a love of reading.

Lots has been happening in the library!  Here are just a few things...

    • Congratulations to The Falcons who tied for 2nd place in the city wide Global Reading Challenge!  Our team consisted of four students from 4th grade and two from 5th.  They did an outstanding job and only missed ONE question.  Seventy two schools competed in the competition.  What an accomplishment!
    • April is National Poetry month.  Change it up a bit and check out a poetry book.
    • On April 15th, author Chad Trisef will be speaking to our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students in the library.  His fictional adventure books, the Oracle Series, incorporates geography, science, and caring for our planet.
    • April 28-May 5 will be National Children's Book Week.  One of the highlights will be guest author and inspirational speaker, Simon Calcavecchia.  Simon will speak to our student body about his book The Adventures of Frank and Mustard, a story about never giving up.
    • Mr. Will, our local Seattle Public Children's librarian, will be coming in on June 18th to talk to our students about the summer reading programs.
