Graham Hill School Leader Update

Graham Hill School Leader Update

Dear Graham Hill families and staff,

I am pleased to announce Treneicia Gardner has been named as the acting principal of Graham Hill Elementary School for 2024-25 school year. Principal Gardner will begin her tenure on Aug. 1.

Principal Gardner will be serving in place of Dr. Rena Deese, who is moving on to another career endeavor.

Principal Gardner is thrilled to return to Graham Hill Elementary, a place that has been dear to her heart. She is an experienced educator, serving in SPS for 13 years in the roles of teacher and mentor teacher. Most recently, she served as the assistant principal of John Muir Elementary School.

Principal Gardner leads with a passion for equity in education that involves advocating for fairness and inclusivity, while ensuring historically marginalized voices are heard. She focuses on providing all students with access to excellent education in a nurturing environment that fosters joy and belonging to dismantle barriers to learning and promote a culture where every student thrives and achieves their full potential.

SPS will begin the search for a permanent Graham Hill principal later this school year. At that time, SPS will share next steps with the community. Read more about the SPS school leader hiring process on our website. Until then, Principal Gardner’s dedication to collaborative problem solving and her commitment to high-quality learning experiences will continue to support and guide Graham Hill Elementary School.

I also want to thank Principal Dees for her leadership and service to the Graham Hill community.

Please join me in welcoming Ms. Gardner!
